July 12, 2012: Secretary Expenditure visits office of CGA

Mr. Sumit Bose, Secretary Expenditure, Ministry of Finance visited the office of Controller General of Accounts on July 12th, 2012 along with other senior officers from his Department. A warm welcome was extended to Mr. Bose and other senior officers accompanying him by  Mr. Jawahar Thakur, Controller General of Accounts. The meeting started with the welcome address of Mr. Jawahar Thakur followed by a short round of introduction of his core team to Mr. Bose and his team.

The Central Plan Scheme Monitoring System [CPSMS] team headed by Mr. Raju Sharan, [Joint CGA] gave a presentation on the future plans of the implementation of the scheme in different states across India. On the conclusion of the presentation, Mr. Bose gave valuable inputs on the methodology of implementation of CPSMS. Modifications proposed by the Secretary [Exp.] have been incorporated for its successful implementation.

He was also apprised of other IT initiatives of the office of Controller General of Accounts including a detailed status report on e-payment.

The urgent need for Cadre Review was another major issue that came up for discussion.

Mr. Sumit Bose was accompanied by Ms. Anjuly Chib Duggal, Additional Secretary (Expenditure); Mr. H. Pradeep Rao, JS&FA; Ms. Meena Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Joint Secretary; Mr. Saurabh Garg, Joint Secretary; Mr. Sidharth Sharma, Director and Mr. Pankaj Sharma, Director from Department of Expenditure.
